I was recently watching a very popular documentary called "American Pimp" by the Hughes brothers, which chronicles the life and times of the American Pimp. The main focus of this documentary is basically the stereotypical black street pimp and his everyday struggles and successes in this prostitution game. You learn everything about these men from their upbringing to how they became pimps. Most of the pimps in this movie had fathers and uncles who were also pimps and were strangely looked up to in the community back in the 60's and 70's.
Obviously it was the older street hustlers who caught my attention because they were knowledgeable and gave valid points when discussing this issue of pimping and hoeing. Like one of the pimps said "You have to be in the game to understand it" and I FULLY agree. Although I don't condone much of what a pimp stands for, I can honestly say that I totally understand their world and their struggles with pimping prostitutes.
If you don't know, then I'm here to tell you. Sex workers can be some of the most hard headed, "know it all" bitches on the planet. You can take a sex worker with 2 successful months under her belt, and it's like she becomes an instant expert on the game. You can't tell the bitch nothing because she thinks she has it all figured out. This is where the pimp comes in and lets her know that she doesn't know shit, YET!
Not to talk down on my fellow sex workers, but I can sometimes understand why a pimp would go upside a hookers head, especially when she's given advice or instruction on how to be a better sex worker and completely disregards what is told to her. I see it all the time; females asking for advice but never listen or apply the advice given to her. Women are also catty and emotional by nature, that's just a fact, and no matter how much you bitch and moan about what I just said; you know it's the truth. But then again, like I said you really do have to be on the inside to see it and understand where I'm coming from.
I know some of you may be asking yourself, how can a woman fuck on the streets then give all her money to a pimp? Well what you must understand is that street hookers usually don't have the luxury of "Hooker's Internet support groups", and "Hooking 101" books written by famous retired hookers. That street hooker basically relies on her pimp to take care of her every need, from housing, food, medical bills, and legal fees in the event of an arrest. It was the pimp's responsibility to take care of that; that was a pimp's creed back in the 60's and 70's. He took care of the hoe as long as she supplies the money. And again- it all goes back to how being a sex worker is not for a woman who is soft, weak, and dependent with issues like your average street hooker. So that's why she gives a pimp all her money, She's dependent.
Sadly enough the pimping game completely turned to shit around the 1980's when crack cocaine was introduced. Instead of a hooker working to maintain herself, she was hooking to maintain her crack habit. And what you must understand is- once you start selling your pussy to support negative or destructive habits then you become what make this industry seedy and grimy to the outsiders. But if you sell your pussy to maintain your freedom and luxurious lifestyle, then your one step ahead in the game and Congratulations to you for being a success!
